Laishram Surbala Devi a 21 year old female born in Manipur, India. She is the second child among the three siblings. Her mother is a part time weaver and her father is a lab technician. Devi start her fighting career in 2010 as a female kickboxer. Dingko Singh a Manipurian Boxer is her interest in combat sport. She is also a Jiu-jitsu Asian open gold medalist. She is called the “Warrior Princess”. She train in KOI Combat Academy under the gym founder also the head coach Vishal Seigell.
Laishram represents India in the IMMAFW ( International Mixed Martial Arts Federation-World which held in Khalifa Sport City Stadium in Bahrain. She wants to represent in India in a best way of possible.
Today Laishram Surbali Devi has a long road but she has already achieved a lot at the age of 21. She is known as one of the top female fighter in MMA India and also in Asia. She became International All Women’s Card Strawweight winner after defeating the on going champion.
Academy has played a big part in Devi for being a fighter, the academy make sure that she can overcome her weaknesses and work for being the all around fighter.
Devi has such as promising career now, she has a big aspirations to be a professional fighter in the world-famous UFC. She decided to dabble in Mixed martial arts, and now at the age of 21 she is a champion.
She was injured in the first round of the match, It was the very hard phase of my life Devi said. She also gone into depression because of the injury incident but she love the game so much that’s why she got to be strong. She was also go rehab for seven months, had a surgery and take a two year break in sport.
The gold medalist draws attention of the state government to give more attention in sports and games because there are many who have great potential but not getting a opportunity to explore due to financial problem.
Devi said “Don’t waste your time. Give your full effort in your path whether it may be an sports , art, education or any. It will automatically lead you to be a successful.”
