MEET RAJAT PATIDAR : THE BATSMAN WHO REPLACED SHREYAS IYER


NEW DELHI : Back injury has forced India batsman Shreyas Iyer to out of the One-Day International series against the New Zealand.

Rajat Manohar Patidar born on June 1, 1993 who plays Madhya Pradesh in cricket and for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in Indian Premier League. He is right-handed batter and off-spinner.

He made his first-debut on October 30 in year of 2015-2016 Ranji Trophy. He made his debut for Madhya Pradesh in his Twenty20 in year 2017-2018 Zonal T20 League on January 8, 2018.

He was the leading run scorer for the Madhya Pradesh in the Ranji Trophy 2018-2019 with his 713 runs in eight matches. He was named in the India's Blue team squad for 2019-2020 Duleep Trophy.

Patidar bought by the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premeir League auction ahead of the 2021 IPL . Patidar scored a match winning knock of 112* against the Lucknow Super Giants.

He was named as replacement for lyer in the squad, the scheduled begin from Wednesday in Hyderabad under the leadership of Rohit Sharma. Patidar was part of the India ODI squads but is yet to make his International debut.

He received his maiden national side call-up for the three match ODI series against South Africa in year 2022 after their awesome performance in the Domestic and IP Cricket, but is yet to play in India.

Patidar had breakout IPL season with RCB last year which saw him to score 333 runs in eight match an average of 55.50 with century and the two fifties.

Patidar also impressed on his India A debut to scored 319 runs in four innings at average of 106.33 including century on debut against the New Zealand A.
