Ochai Agbaji was born on April 20, 2000. An American basketball player for Cleveland Cavaliers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was drafted as 14th overall pick in the 2022 NBA DRAFT. As a senior at the University of Kansas, he was named consensus first-team All-American and voted the Big 12 Player of the Year in 2022. He led the Jayhawks to a National Championship and was named the Final Four Most Outstanding Player (MOP).

He was born in Milwaukee but he was grew up in Kansas City, Missouri. He grew up playing soccer, His father encouragement, playing soccer as well as the Amateur Athletic Union basketball from the young age. Agbaji stop playing soccer as sophomore to focus on basketball. He grew nine inches between freshman to junior years.

As a senior, he averaged 27.6 points and 8.6 rebounds per game for Oak Park and was named Kansas City Star All-Metro player of the year. Agbaji was considered a three-star recruit by 247Sports and Rivals. On February 8, 2018, he committed to play college basketball for Kansas over offers from Texas A&M and Wisconsin.

On January 29, Agbaji made his first career start, scoring 24 points, bringing in seven rebounds, and stealing the ball twice in a loss to Texas. In his next game, he recorded his first double-double in a win over Texas Tech. Agbaji was named Big 12 Conference Newcomer of the Week for the two performances.

Agbaji made his sophomore season debut scoring 15 points in a loss to fourth-ranked Duke at the Champions Classic. Agbaji was named Honorable Mention All-Big 12.He averaged 14.1 points per game as a junior, shooting 42 percent from the field. Agbaji could be a meaningful catch-and-shoot player even in the early going in his career with the Cavaliers it appears, if his perimeter shooting can translate when he gets opportunities.

On April 8, 2021, he declared for the 2021 NBA draft while maintaining his college eligibility.
