Tania Sachdev was born in Delhi, India born on August 20 ,1986. Her mother introduce her to play chess at the age of 6. Her parents give her a professional training. She completed her schooling at Modern School in Vihar, Delhi in India and attended college at Sri Venkateswara College. At the age of 8 she achieved his first International title. Tania Sachdev wins in multiple events, andshe married Viraj Kataria a Delhi based Architect. She was also sponsored by Red bull.


She’s been ranked in TOP 50 Women’s Chess Player in the FIDE World Chess Rankings and became an Eight Indian Woman Grandmaster in Chess. At the year 2006-2007 she won at the India’s National Women’s Premier Chess Championship. She was received an Arjuna Reward in 2009.


She played for Indian National Team in Women’s Chess Olympiads since 2008. She was also part of

World Team Chess Championship and the Women’s Asian Team Chess Championship since 2003, In 2006 Asian Games and 2009 Asian Indoor Games. She won also the individual bronze medal for board 3 at the 2012 Women’s Chess Olympiad held in Istanbul. Her team won four silver medals on year of 2008,2009,2012,2014 and also four Individual ones comes with three silver and one bronze in the Women’s Asian Championship.


Sachdev win a silver medal in the Asian Continental Women’s Rapid Chess Championship. She was also presented a Fritztrainer Strategy DVD for Chessbase and a member of official team for the 2013 World Championship Match in Chennai between Magnus Carlsen and Viswanathan Annad.


She is chess presenter and commentator. Tania Sachdev holds FIDE titles of Woman Grandmaster and the International Master. She was the two-time Chess champion in Women’s division in a year of 2006 and 2007 and she holds the title of three-time in the new Commonwealth Women’s Chess Champion in 2016.
